What is relationship dynamic counseling?
Relationship dynamic counseling focuses on the predictable pattern of interaction or communication within a relationship. This self- reinforcing and self- perpetuating pattern of communication usually starts with a triggering communication or action and produces a predicable response which can lead to disconnect or a heightened connection within a relationship.
At Abundant Solutions both healthy and unhealthy predictable patterns are explored to transform unhealthy patterns to healthy ones; and to complement healthy patterns with relationship goals. Whether you are seeking individual counseling to improve the connection with self, considering couples counseling to improve relations with a partner or thinking about family counseling to improve bonding amongst generations, relationship dynamic counseling can create awareness and understanding of interpersonal needs and desires.
Some of the factors explored during relationship dynamic counseling include but are not limited to attachment styles, love languages, goal setting, communication styles, healthy and unhealthy boundaries, personality, expectations, sexual health and preference, trauma, family of origin, and emotional maps.
Individual Counseling
Seeking counseling services can be a very overwhelming task. Asking for help from a complete stranger seems like the last decision you would make, but it can also serve as the bravest decision you will ever make.
Using a non-judgmental approach, self- exploration is supported and encouraged to assist with unearthing better understanding of yourself, your environment, those in your environment and how you interact and connect with it all. Tailored strategies are implemented to identify solutions specific to you and your specific needs. Because this is your personal journey, you will be challenged to gain the most from your time inside and outside of the counseling setting by engaging, being open, honest, and present throughout your process.

Marital/Couples Counseling
Men are from Mars and women are from Venus, yet somehow they manage to land on earth where communication is everything.
In relationships, expectations of others tend to guide our perception and our perception becomes our reality. However, sometimes our perception can be fueled by the 3 Misses: miscommunication, misunderstanding, and misinterpretation. The 3 Misses tend to show up in relationships through lack of intimacy, trust issues, estrangement, increased disputes, and boredom (just to name a few). Couples are offered the opportunity to recognize and address areas of need, give voice to their challenge areas, recommit to themselves, individually and their relationship, and begin working toward resolutions through a combination of establishing healthy boundaries, learning effective communication skills and setting realistic expectations. These tools become the catalyst for supporting, respecting, and balancing their relationship and creating happy memories together.
We see couples who are currently courting/pre-marital status; dating; in casual relationships; those who are cohabitating; in long-term relationships; those who are married; those who are divorced; those who are separated; in long-distance relationships; those who are ‘taking a break’; those who are co-parenting and even couples who are currently being affected by infidelity.

Family Counseling
When life happens, we tend to take it personally. It can have an impact on us individually and those connected to us, including our families.
Families are assisted with regaining balance and overcoming challenges, especially during stressful times. Family stress may present itself as physical, emotional, and verbal abuse, grief and loss, separation or divorce, physical or mental illness, substance abuse or recovery, trauma, transitional or blended family issues. At Abundant Solutions the family unit invests time in understanding how each person approaches challenges, addresses defeats, and thinks about conflict and family roles. Families are supported in creating stronger relations, healthy communication, cohesiveness based on a solid foundation.
